    1. Not impressed Toyota!!! Most luxury brands are offering more and you are still lagging behind. I admit that the outer looks decent but that interior is still too dated. Start catching up!!

    2. From this teaser I didn’t see too much though to be honest. Seems like an old Equus is still far more luxurious looking. Have a feeling this will be a flop. The logo/emblem is sweet though !

  1. I don’t know why Toyota had stopped exporting it to markets outside Japan. I would love to see this new model compete with European luxury brands particularly in the Middle Eastern markets where it had significant following and presence some time back.

  2. Toyota Crown was the dream car of Iraqis, especially in the 80’s, first we received Toyota Super Crown, a regular nicely equipped sedan and then later they brought in the hardtop super saloon and the Royal Crown with no door frames and fuel injection and people hated it, we have the worst fuel quality in Iraq and it was hurting the injection system in these cars. Man, those days…

    1. So true, my uncle owned 3 of them, one which had curtains. He had to store it in garage with 3 locks just to make sure that no one touches it. I think he got it as a gift from Uday’s guard.

    2. My uncle had 1987 version and he took us to baghdad from slemani in 2001 for two nights. It was the first and the last time i visited baghdad and I still remember it nicely regardless what my arab friend from baghdad say about it these days. I have a fond childhood memory of both a crown and baghdad.

    3. @Shiraz Shahab Baghdad used to be the safest and was nice actually, and some parts were well maintained, not all of it…

    4. @huss1205 Pity they lied so much about Saddam and wrecked it just like Afghanistan, for the you know who’s with pointy noses…

  3. A real technology made to make people happy and comfortable.
The best car I wish for my daughters and the son.
Extremely elegant and very authentic Toyota product as usual.

  4. in the 80s a neighbor gave me a 20mins lift to the pool on his Crown. That experience of extremely comfort ride is still uncomparable!!!

  5. We emigrated to Australia in 1977 and the first car our Father bought was the Toyota Crown. What a car. I learned to drive in it

  6. This Japanese Luxury Sedan would really give America’s cars a run for their money; and in many aspects it outclasses many luxury sedans globally. It really is a gem of a car.

    1. Personally, I think Japanese cars outclass American automobiles period and as far as value and quality for money are concerned they leave most European vehicles in the dust as well.
Will this car cannibalize some Lexus sales though?

  7. I wish we had these available in United States. Lexus isn’t even close to these RHD cars. If you compare Crown to Lexus LS, you’ll find the material quality and details in a Crown on the next level.

  8. I remember the mid 80s Crown.
“ Key is in the ignition “. The car would say every time you open the driver’s door without taking the keys out. Nostalgia.

    1. @thegoldmicrophone doubt it. I have a feeling this will be just as likely to be sold in the U.S. as the Toyota Century

  9. My father had an Old Toyota crown back in Iran when I was a child, It was either a seventh or eighth generation with a 6-cylinder engine and a 5-speed manual. It was very beaten up but my dad fixed it and replaced the engine, the transmission and repainted the car and it looked brand new, and it worked for as long as I remember. It was reliable and he drove it over a million kilometers, at that point the speedo just stopped working so we never knew how many miles it had when he sold it before we came to settle in the United States, it was sad to see it go.

    1. that’s a great story. love it. I am a retired certified auto tech and love Toyotas. mainly because you don’t have to work on them 😀😁😃

  10. Nobody becomes a millionaire or a billionaire by working for others and depending on them, good investment bring millions of dollars, and consistency brings billions, the market is all about BTC at the moment now….
